Best Practices for Your First Booking

Newly approved on Cloud Dentistry and just got your first booking? Don't sweat - we're here to help!

Now that you're approved and active on Cloud Dentistry, you'll start to get booking requests and/or messages from offices in your area. Once you have your first confirmed booking, you're on your way to success!

Here are some best practices for professionals receiving their first confirmed booking.

📅 Mark your calendar

Your confirmed booking will be adjusted in the schedule you've set in your profile, but if you also work off a Google calendar on your phone or even a physical calendar at home, be sure to write down your confirmed shift!

🔎 Review all office details from their profile

Be sure to read through the office's profile, including parking details, office description, any photos (if applicable), and more to familiarize yourself with the office prior to your arrival.

🚗 Map out your drive

Before your booking, pull up Apple or Google Maps to confirm the drive time from your location to the office. Be sure to factor in any local traffic patterns or weather reports so you're leaving at the best time in the morning.

💰 Plan for your timesheet

Review the payment terms of your booking in the assignment details to confirm how you'll be getting paid. If the office will be using Cloud Direct Pay (CDP) for your booking payment, you will need to complete and turn in a timesheet to Cloud once your booking is completed. To prepare for this, print a copy of your timesheet or ask the office to print one for you at the beginning of your shift (this is a common request for offices).

📣 Ask questions

If you have any other questions or concerns ahead of your booking, don't be afraid to ask! Message the office directly and they can answer any additional questions to ensure a successful shift!

📱 Add the widget to your phone

Never miss a message, reminder, booking request, or other alerts with the Cloud Dentistry widget for iPhone and Android users! Go to your home screen and search for Cloud Dentistry in available widgets, pick a style, and add! Specific details can be found here!

‼️ Turn on notifications

Make sure you set your notification settings to receive in-app, SMS, or email alerts whenever you have a message or booking request.

While completing your first booking on Cloud may seem overwhelming for a brand new professional, we know once you complete your first booking, you'll be even more confident!

Once you've confirmed a booking, offices are relying on you. It's very important to not cancel or no-show your first booking. Late cancelations will negatively impact your profile score, which will impact how you appear in search results from offices. A no-show is even worse and could risk you getting suspended from the platform. If an emergency does come up - car broken down, accident, severely ill, etc. - and you absolutely have to cancel, please do so as quickly as possible in your booking and provide a reason for the office. Providing a reason (without disclosing personal details) is important for the office to know the cancelation was unavoidable and will help your chances of getting booked by the office again in the future.
