1. What should I do if I need to cancel a booking?

Cancel as soon as you know you can’t make it. Offices count on your commitment, and canceling early helps protect your reputation and gives them time to find coverage. Emergencies happen; just communicate as quickly and clearly as you can.

2. How do I make sure I get to the right place on time?

Double-check the office address the day before and confirm where to park. If it’s your first time at the practice, plan to arrive at least 10–15 minutes early. That gives you a chance to introduce yourself, learn where things are, and start the day smoothly!

3. What’s the expectation if I’m at a new office that operates differently than I’m used to?

Every office has its own way of doing things. Even if you disagree with their approach, stay professional and complete the day. You always have the option to block that office after your completed booking if you disagree with the standards of care, but leaving midday can negatively affect your reputation and profile.

4. I don’t want to bother the staff, but I have questions. Should I ask?

Yes, definitely ask! You’re not expected to know everything on day one. Questions show you care about doing a good job and respect the office’s processes. A few great ones to start with:

  • What are my responsibilities today?

  • Where are the supplies I’ll need?

  • What dental software do you use?

  • How do I use the x-ray or pano machine here?

  • What’s the doctor’s preferred name or title?

  • If I don’t have a patient, how can I help?

  • How long is scheduled for each appointment?

5. How can I make sure I get paid properly?

Before you leave, always check the payment terms for your assignment. You can find this in the booking details under Payment Terms. If the assignment is not labeled Cloud Direct Pay (CDP), payment comes straight from the office, so make sure you understand when and how they plan to pay.

6. What’s Cloud Direct Pay, and how does it work?

If the assignment is marked “Cloud Direct Pay”, your payment comes from Cloud Dentistry. You’ll need to bring a timesheet to the office, have it filled out completely, and upload it afterward. This is how your hours get approved and processed.

7. Any tips for leaving a good impression?

Yes! Arrive early, communicate clearly, and stay engaged throughout the day. If things are slow, ask how you can help. Offices notice and appreciate professionals who go above and beyond.
