Jobs that appear in either the “Permanent Jobs” or “Temp Jobs” are created by the office with the expectation that professionals will apply to them.
Applying to a job posting (temp or permanent) is not a guarantee of getting the job. Dental offices can accept or decline your application for a job.
Permanent Jobs
When you apply, you will be asked to submit a short explanation of why you are qualified for the role and potentially upload your resume. Once you apply, the system will create a new message between you and the office in your Messages tab. Any subsequent communication about the job will take place in Messages.
Temp Jobs
For temp jobs, once you apply, the office will have the ability to accept or decline your request. If you are accepted, it will show as a confirmed booking on your calendar - congratulations!
When you apply for a job under the Job Posts tab, your application enters a review or "shift application" status while the office decides whether to accept it. Your calendar provides a quick visual indicator of where each booking stands, using a color-coded system to keep track of your applications, confirmed bookings, available opportunities, and office-proposed jobs.
Calendar Color Guide
After you submit an application, the booking will appear in your calendar with a specific color that reflects its current status. Please review the basic guide below to understand what each color means:
Tip: Check your calendar regularly to monitor color changes. A change from purple to green is your signal that your application was accepted and the job is confirmed.
For a full breakdown, see the related article: What do the different colors on my bookings calendar mean?.
Offices may send you a message before accepting your application to ask clarifying questions or negotiate the hourly rate. Please reply to these messages so you don’t miss the opportunity!
How to Rescind or Cancel Your Application
If you are no longer interested in a job you applied for, or if you realize on short notice that you will not be able to attend if accepted, it is important to withdraw your application as soon as possible. This courtesy gives the office time to review other applicants and ensures the position is filled.
Steps to Cancel Your Application
Log in to your account and navigate to the Job Posts tab.
Locate the job listing for which you submitted an application. You can also find it on your calendar marked in purple.
Click on the job to open the booking details.
Select the option to Rescind Application (also referred as Cancel Application or Withdraw).
Confirm the Rescind. The booking will be removed from your calendar, and the purple indicator will disappear.
If you tap “Rescind,” you’re withdrawing your application for that shift (so you’re no longer waiting for the office to accept or decline it).
Important Notes
Cancel as early as possible. Late cancellations may affect your reliability rating and your eligibility for future jobs.
If your application has already been accepted (the booking is showing in green) and you can no longer attend, contact the office directly as soon as possible to let them know.
Repeated last-minute cancellations or no-shows can result in restrictions on your account, so please use the rescind option responsibly.
Please make sure you have your notifications turned ON for bookings and messages at the very least. We highly recommend turning these notifications on for text messages and in-app notifications to ensure you don’t miss any confirmations or cancellations.
