Yes, you can negotiate your rate directly with dental offices when proposing bookings or applying for positions. But when the office proposes a booking to you, we create a booking contract that specifies your hourly rate as it was when the office proposed the booking. This contracted rate is the rate that the office is expected to pay.
How do I change the hourly rate on a booking request?
Need to update the hourly rate for a booking request? Whether you agreed on a different rate through messages or a dentist being booked for hygiene coverage, the current booking cannot be edited once it is pending or confirmed.
To update the hourly rate, follow the steps below.
If the booking request is already pending or confirmed
Cancel or decline the current booking request with the incorrect rate.
Create a new booking request using the updated hourly rate.
Unfortunately, booking details — including the hourly rate — cannot be edited after a booking request has been submitted or confirmed.
How professionals can update the hourly rate
While offices cannot change a professional’s hourly rate on their end, professionals have two options:
Update their hourly rate in their booking settings
Propose a new booking with a custom rate directly through the message thread with the office
Steps for professionals to propose a new rate
Open the message thread with the office.
Click “Propose a Booking.”
Click the date on the bookings calendar you are proposing the booking for.
Enter the proposed working times and hourly rate.
Send the booking proposal to the office.
The office can then review and accept the proposal with the updated rate.
After the new booking is accepted
Once the office accepts the updated booking proposal:
The booking will be confirmed with the newly agreed-upon rate
The attached booking agreement will reflect the updated hourly rate
